Nine out of the twelve months

So happened that the 9 ofus sat together and formed a group for discussion during our first school term. We ended up cliquing together and doing the subsequent projects as a group.
Interestingly, all 9 of our birthdays fall on different month, meaning we wouldspend the 9 out of 12 months in a year celebrating birthdays.
And surprising, Iam the oldest among them, even though in terms of mindset and thoughts I ~~mayseems~~ am obviously younger than some of my girls.

It’sJanuary, Foong Chin’s 21^st birthday.

We spent our time after schoolsearching for a nice place to chill out while waiting for Deborah to join uslater in the afternoon. We strolled to Cineleisure from Ion, with the intentionof catching a movie.

Movie plan failed, there wasn’t any nice movie up during thatperiod and making decision in such a big group is seriously tough, especiallyin a group where there are too many oppositions! Haha. The 8 of us then headed back to Ion as our tummy reminded us that we were starving.

Maybe they shouldconsider adding travelators in Orchard; it will definitely save some time.

Our birthday girl wanted to try out Taste Paradise Dim Sum. Sadly, due to Chinese New Year period, we were turned down as they only serve reservation and no Dim Sum! We didn’t wanna go any further as we were all starving, and we settled by the Japanese restaurant-Enmaru a few shops away.

Their prices ranges from 15.80- $25+++

More expensive than the usual Japanese's restaurants which i would go.

So interesting isn't it! I have never tried Soba which is served hot.

The food lived up to the price.

And they serve hot green tea free of charge.

Not bad! Wouldn't mind going back again =)

Last week, i met up with my poly cliques, to satisfy our craving.

Mahjonging!

We love to play Mahjong, and just like my mum always says, gambling is unhealthy! She is right, we are so addicted to this game. But not to worry, other than Chinese New Year period, we usually don't involve real money. Sadly, i am the biggest loser that day!
Nevertheless it was really fun. It was also a great bonding and catch up session =)

When i grow old and have nothing better to do, i am going to play mahjong everyday with my neighbours! haha.

Jie Yan's house has very good lighting, my hair colour was so obvious in the pictures taken at her place.

I love my brown hair, but i realized certain areas have faded. They are golden now and looks very unhealthy. Maybe i should consider revamping my whole look.

From the usual brown hair, brown contact lens and brown eyebrows to all black.

My friends are always so cute~!

Rui Yi was working, we met her at the train station and headed to Novena for our dance class.

Just cleared my 4th lesson for The Boys dance, and i have to admit that i really have serious problem with catching up with the right pace of the music and body coordination.

Can't be blame right! The last time i dance was like more than 10 years ago! And it was during my days taking Chinese dance in primary school.

It's been almost a year since we graduated, but seriously it still feels it's yesterday only.

Found this picture when i was searching for our Taiwan photos! I think i didn't post this up previously.

I realise my weight lost did reflect on my face now, i used to be so chubby. I lost 5 kg since i graduated.

Maybe i should do a post on it someday! What do you all think?? =)

My ang bao dress

A post-chinese new year shopping session with boyfriend at Orchard. =)

The first sentence my dad told me when i reached home was "You looked like an Ang Bao!"

I couldn't agree less with him when i saw my pictures =X I thought this would be a perfect dress for Chinese new year, true enough, i was a walking red packet!

Anyway, the dragon year have been treating me well so far. I guess i had my fair share of good luck in many ways, probably some angels saw how hard i worked through cny and the distress i went through the last year.

The storm has subsided but the sky is still overcast with dangerous cumulonimbus cloud.

2011 was full of challenges for me, especially matters happening at home.

It was hard enough to handle school, work, personal life and blog, matters at home made it worse.

I neglected my blog badly and i must admit i haven been posting up quality posts for awhile.

I see the numbers of viewer on my statistic going lower and lower each day, yet there wasn't any urge or motivation to pull them up again.

Like Maslow hierarchy of need, my life lacked the basic, what's there to drive me to move further up in my career of blogging.

Half a battle won with the good start of the year!

I hope the year of dragon would continue to be kind to me! =)

Thanks for the support despite the absence of my soul in this space during this period.

Blogging is my hobby, along with handicraft.

I would never give up on them, as much as i wish i have more time.

My Lunar New Year

Happy Lunar New Year!

I worked through my Chinese new year, missed dolling up and also all the gambling session.

Nevertheless, i had plenty of new year snacks and also a good share of Ang Baos!

My pre-new year was well spent.

We squeezed with the crazy crowd at Chinatown to feel the new year ambiance. It was super hot and humid, boyfriend and i ended up like glue and we left the place empty handed. Not a wise idea to go there!

And having fun with the twister fries! HAHA

Spent another Saturday baking pineapple tarts with my best friend Siew Ling. We sat down for hours, working on our dough, and reminiscing our time in secondary and primary school. The two boyfriends were laborer of the tarts, and audiences while we speaks our stories in excitement.

Had some flower shopping too!
My brother became a huge fan of Orchid after our visit to the World Orchid exhibition. Since it was Chinese New Year period, we had a walk at Kovan florist, where there are many shops which sell floral.

Pretty pretty.

We bought back more Orchid! Some were from my brother's friend as his birthday gift. What a weird gift for birthday! But he loved it so much!! My brother took care of these Orchid like his girlfriend! He watched videos on taking care of Orchid, read article about them and followed those instructions carefully. He opened the window once in awhile to allow air ventilation, (which he claim the Orchid like it) he noted down the date of watering and fertilizing and watch closely the frequency of it.

I have two little pots in my room too! Although i am not as crazy as him, they seems to be pretty healthy. =)

A summary of my first semester

Christmas lunch at Millennium walk Ramen Dining.

It feels like just yesterday when i stepped into national library for a different purpose- to attend classes.

FYI, my school is located within national library, and i am attending degree program on hotel administration.

Four months have passed and today is the last day of my 3 weeks holiday.

I wonder how my 3 weeks passed! It feels like just yesterday when my group mate and i were rushing out our projects on the second last day of school term. Finally holiday is here and it is gone again!

School wouldn't have went so well without all these awesome girls i met. I have learnt so much from them in these four months together.
Although we spend a lot of time mugging for our projects, we hang out together a lot too.

Life as an undergraduate was tedious! There are basically no time to slack, i still remember staying up in school until 11pm! We often skipped meals or da bao back.

Soup Spoon! Tokyo chicken stew, Smoked ham and cheese sandwich.

But on a few occasions, we still manage to have some good food.

The December weather is really chilly, we always feel like we are in the freezer when we were in class.

Having hot soup was a gift. =)

On our last presentation! Excited cos we conquered two semesters!

I looked like a shorty here cos i removed my heel! Totally a bad choice. I was among the tallest okay! lol.

We are glad to get an A for that subject! All the long hours staying back in school was worth while.

We visited St Regis for one of our projects, coincidentally, it was also the day where the train broke down. It was chaotic at Orchard, i walked over to the bus stop only to realise that there is no way for me to board any bus! Everyone was standing on the road itself. Eventually i walked over to take the circle line home. It took me over 2 hours to finally get home from Town that day.

Lao Ban Beancurd.

On many occasions when i stayed back late from work, boyfriend would send me home. I am so glad he is always supportive.

There was once i haven had dinner and he bought me to Old Changi Road to eat, managed to try out the Lao Ban Bean curd which i have heard a million time how great it is.

During this period, grandpa was hospitalized for 3 times, yet doctor was unable to diagnose any problem with him. Claiming that being an ex smoker was the cause of him having serious breathing difficulty on various occasions. My heart ache so much whenever he tells me that his head and back aches. The only thing i could do is to help him massage. =( I hope he would get well really soon.

Spent one of my Saturday attending my cousin surprise 21st. Her Sister planned the whole thing without her knowledge. They were ultra sweet!

Then i spent my Christmas in Ubin, with all my relative and extended relatives! I wasn't expecting so much people that day, but it was really fun.

Heritage tour

Dim Sum time!

Everyone is preparing to count down to 2012 and i am sitting right in front of my laptop, updating my blog.

Blogging pass the year isn't that bad actually huh. Considering how i used to spend the last minutes of the year mugging for projects.

Last Thursday boyfriend and i toured around the attractions of Singapore like some tourist!

Singapore is indeed a tiny dot, there are so limited places we could go. We headed to China Town for Dim Sum at Yan Palace and then to Haw Par Villa.

I love their Century Egg porridge with deep fried crunchy You Tao.

Dim Sum with tea is love =) Delicious yet not as fattening.

We then captured some pictures along the overhead bridge by Hong Lim Complex.

The building looks like architecture of the past which are coated with new shades of paint. Perfect match of new and old.

The walk around Chinatown while waiting for the restaurant to open, becomes worthwhile when i see those nice pictures =)

We then arrived to our intended destination. Haw Par Villa. I can't picture myself as a kid in Haw Par Villa, yet i am sure i have been there before. It seems to bring back plenty of memories for Boyfriend.

A picture at the entrance. I spotted a few tourist in this picture and encounter many along my tour. It was only a small area that could be easily completed in an hour or so. I can't really understand what so attractive about the place!!

Those stories on the board were quite interesting, although i had a hard time trying to figure out the meaning behind the illustration even after reading the story.

I insisted that boyfriend have to take a picture with the pillar! Didn't manage to find the exact same spot that the picture was taken almost 20 years ago.

This was my wall paper for a month plus. My favorite picture!

2011 was a bumpy journey for me. Being situated at the bottom of the happiness curve, i believe 2012 would be a better year! Definitely!

Before the year ends, i would like to thank all my loyal reader who drops by from time to time! I am glad there are still people reading this space of mine and contributing to the tiny bits i earn from advertisement of this blog.

Decemeber leave

It has been a really long long time since boyfriend and i had a proper date.

School. work. school. work.

That was my life.

School holiday is finally here for me and boyfriend wanted to clear his leave before the year ends, and finally we had time for each other!

We caught Mission Impossible and it was definitely worth the time! Ultra thrilling, one of my favorite movie of 2011.

Had Manhattan fish market because we spotted a really good deal online.

Just flash this on your phone when you order. We ordered their Fried Country mushroom which was $7.90. The total bill for us added up to be $25 only.

Munch munch munch!

We then shopped around town to hunt for some chinese new year clothing! Didn't manage to get any though. I am really fussy when it comes to clothing.

But i went home with a pair of bow ring which matches my ear ring from Boyfriend which i really really really like. Was kind of overpriced though, that why i was reluctant to get it initially.

Had an awesome day just hanging around town with my loved one.

We went Haw Par Villa today and had Dim Sum! Gonna go for a picnic tomorrow. Good time passes by too quickly. Friday please don't go yet. I haven had enough fun!

Red Christmas

Had a mini Christmas celebration cum gathering with my lovely poly clique just before Christmas. None of us are catholic or christian, but over the years Christmas has become an occasion for everyone. Especially the retail who seize this opportunity to clear stock. It was also an occasion for us to squeeze out time to get together. We each got a gift and had a gift exchange session.

Had an awesome catch up session with the girls. Glad that everyone are climbing up the success ladder. I had my last presentation of the semester on the day just before the meetup as well. It marks the end of my first semester as an undergraduate. It have been a fulfilling yet fun four months.

Would definitely blog more frequently, since holiday is here =)

Girl's Generation

I can't believe i haven update my blog for close to a month! This is the longest record i had, university life have been so hectic, i hardly have any time to slack, like how i used to during my poly life. My grandparents were unwell, further dividing my attention during that peak period. I have been leading a balanced life although it has been all busy, so there are quite a number of photos lined to be posted up here. =)

Boyfriend and i went for SNSD concert two weeks back. I am not that crazy over them, but they dance really well. All the fans were all crazy screaming when they walked near our platform.

It was an eye opener for me, seeing so so many fans crazy over these nine hot babes.

It was also my first trip to Singapore Indoor Stadium for a concert.

Had a great time there =)

Would definitely blog more frequently with my three weeks holiday arriving in another three days. Pretty excited with all that have been lined up for me this holiday, especially CHRISTMAS. Always my favorite.

Sister's 21st Birthday

Happy Birthday Shi Li! My youngest sister would be turning 21st tomorrow. =)

She hanged the little 21st Gold key we got her, together with her Hello Kitty, they look quite matchy together.

We purchased Tom Yum Goong Buffet meal from Deal.com at $13 nett per person. The serving was quite worth it. Taste was acceptable only though.

My impression of buffet was to scoop it up from trays! However, they served it by individual's order. All the food were freshly cooked out. Certain dishes were limited to one order only, such as the stuffed chicken. The rest of the dishes are unlimited, you can order till you can't eat anymore.

We then headed to Miss You Cafe to slack.

They serve a huge range of wine, on the other shelf also. I didn't manage to take a nice picture of it though.

The Cafe played birthday song as they bought out the lighten candle on the brownie for Shi Li. I think that was a thoughtful gesture and make the place worth going back again! =)

Had some milk shake and tea.

I tried their Jasmine Flower Tea. It was brewed with natural Jasmine flower. I thought it would take like the Jasmine in the Polka Jasmine green tea. But it was kind of raw and i wasn't used to the natural taste.

As usual we would spam our cameras with photos before we head home.

Beautiful eyes which comes with a price

Would anyone disagree with me if i say, the eyes and the hair are the most important features?

If you think they are not, then why are there so much product which emphasizes on our eyes? Mascara, fake eyelashes, eye shadows, shimmer, eyeliner, eye enlarging contact lens and so on! And why do people spend hundreds on their hair?

Eyes first- This is how i looked like on my 17th birthday. So young!

Hair next- my horrible hair.

This is me during my secondary school's prom night, it was 2007 i guess. Look at my extremely straight black and unnatural rebonded hair which was pinned up in some weird way. I would love to burn this series of photos if i could.

I started wearing contact lens for prom night and from then i fall in love with it. My mum didn't agree with that idea as she have heard so much about the harms which it brings. While my aunt argued that i should learn how to doll myself up. I agreed with her that i was truly an ugly ducking back then. I didn't become a swan, but slightly much more presentable i guess.

I know mum was right about the harms, when i had my first eye infection from contact lens a few months back. Even after i consulted a doctor, uses the prescribed eye drop frequently, changed to another pair of contact lens, the evil bacteria did not let me off.

I read online that it could become permanent that your eyes would reject the foreign object in it. I thought i am in deep shit and could never ever wear contact lens again. I started wearing spectacles wherever i went. It was a fact that i find it hard to accept.

Look at how bad it was. With spectacles i can't do eye makeup which enhances my small eyes.

I was quite demoralize that i can't look great anymore and reduces the amount of pictures i took.

I didn't want to be blind either. (by the way, my contact lens are purchased at authorized optical store, not those illegal ones online)

But i didn't give up on contact lens. I looked around and luck was on my side. I read about daily Acuvue contact lens on a blog. ( I am not paid to advertise for them! )

I decided to apply for the free trial contact lens online.

Through some survey questions, the webpage generated the contact lens which is most suitable for me. I chose the nearest participating optical to do my eye check and to collect those lens. I did it at Capital Optical and their eyecheck was $15. The amount would be deducted if you purchase Acuve contact lens within two weeks after the eyecheck.

I met Gwen who arranged my appointment and explained to her the situation of my eyes, she then recommended me daily Acuvue define and picked the vivid style and natural shine for me. The eye check was pretty professional and i realised i have been wearing the wrong degree although i just made my spectacles a few months back! Gwen also checked the lens of my eyes to ensure that there are no scratches found. Fortunately, there wasn't any scar.

I was wearing natural shine here for the Orchid conference. Natural shine, like the name explains, makes my eyes brighter.

This is Vivid style. According to Gwen, Accent style and Natural shine is almost the same.

I like the Vivid style more as it is brown in colour which matches my hair colour.

I love these contact lens. Although they are quite expensive ($61 for 15 pairs of daily Acuve define)-*recommend me if you know anywhere which sells them at a cheaper rate!*

These contact lens define my eyes yet doesn't cause any irritation. My eyes feels like they can breathe!!! Best part was, my eyes were not blood shot or dry when i removed them.

Back to hair! If you noticed, i just did my hair. Was considering black and brown but i still love brown! Decided to stay with it but got a new brown and i did soft rebonding to make it tidy.

I wanted something similar to her hair colour. The result turned out quite close to it. I spend a total of 5 hours in the salon. Yawn. Kind of like the result, but misses my wave and the super long hair. It is much much shorter right now. =)

Now, do you agree with me that hair and eyes are the most important features?

Take good care of your eyes if not you might end up like me! *touch wood* and never neglect your hair.

World Orchid Exhibition and Garden By the Bay

So much has changed since the last time boyfriend and I went to Marina Bay Sand. The lotus like Art Science Museum which was under construction previously was all ready now, hosting the Titanic Exhibition for the next six month.

My parentsare fan of flowers; they love to admire them, especially those exotics ones whichthey have never seen before. Last Tuesday, they went to the World Orchid ConferenceExhibition at Marina Bay sand and told me how awesome it was.

So happen thatboyfriend has a few days off from work and we decided to head there.

The ticket includes the Exhibition and entrance to the preview of the Dome @ Garden by the Bay which would be opened to pubic by mid 2012.

The event would be ending on 20 November, which is tomorrow! I am sure there would be big sales for the Orchid sold at the booth on the last day.

There arefree shuttle bus services from Marina Bay station to the Flower Dome and to MBS. I don’treally like the indoor exhibition at MBS which they feature rare Orchid and specialHybrid which won prizes from all over the world.

They were beautiful though, just that I prefer a more natural set up, and I love Garden by the Bay!

We took thefree shuttle bus there, the place was so new that even us Singaporean feelslike we are in a foreign land. When we arrived at Garden by the Bay, I was soamused by the environment. Because it was the perfect place to take picture! Haha.

We spotted a few couples who were there to take their wedding photos. Lucky them, or rather smart choice!

The Domewas created as a cool-dry climate of Mediterranean and semi-aridsubtropical regions like South Africa and parts of Europe like Spain and Italyand there. The sky light made the place very photo friendly!

These were the stamp for re-enter.

There was an area planted with Cactus, i think it looks somewhat like the Cactus garden we used to have at Changi Airport.

But the cactus were flowering! They were so pretty.

The view from the top was breath-taking, it gave me the urge to jump down to the sea of flowers.

It wasn't our plan to wear a similar clothing. But we turned out so couple that day. =)

The Christmas plant! I wanted to take nice photo with those Poinsettia that i just sat down when we were there. haha. When i saw the photos, all the stares were worth it!

We were happily taking picture away and the volunteers told us to make way. I thought they were going to close the place or what, but actually there were VIP coming.

Our previous president and his wife were here. So many people crowded around and wanted to take picture with them . They can't even admire the flowers in peace.

Thank God the rain stopped and we managed to shoot some outdoor pictures before walking back to MBS through the connector bridge.

We spotted the tree which looks like the ones at Botanic garden! LOL! And decided to model with it again!

I haven changed much isn't it! =)

I wouldlove to go there again once it is officially open. Boyfriend thinks the sculptureand the Dome resemble Jurassic park!

Braces

Braces have been quite popular recently, i am sure many of you had considered doing it, is doing it right now, have done it or would be doing it soon. It took me almost 6 years to finally put those braces on. Initially i wasn't able to support this investment financially, and when money wasn't such a big issue(i am paying on my own btw), i have too much uncertainty- how much will it cost, will it affect my daily life, how long do i have to wear it, and blah blah blah..

I tried looking up on the net and consulted some of my friends. I am sure many of you who are keen of doing braces, is going through what i went through, i get a lot of questions from friends and even my family. So i decided to do a blog post about it.

Many of my friends think my teeth looks alright and there isn't any big issue about it. The person who kept convincing me not to put on braces was my boyfriend. He says my teeth is a unique feature of me and he find it cute.

But i still decided to do it despite all the disagreement from people.

Because the bottom of my teeth looks like this. This picture was taken after i extracted 4 teeth, which explain the holes at the bottom.

My teeth was overcrowded and i have mild over-bite. It means that i wasn't able to bite with my front row of my teeth as there wasn't any contact points. I had difficultly eating noodles and pronouncing certain words.

I asked around and my junior introduced me a dental at Bedok and i decided to give it a try.

(First week with braces)

Payment

Different clinic have different style of payment methods. My dentist quoted me $4000 during the first consultation. I paid $200 for first consultation(inclusive of X-ray), $240 for extraction of 2 teeth, $700 when i put on my braces and subsequently $100 for the monthly consultation. Payment method is negotiable at most dental.

Ceramic/Metal/Damon

I picked Ceramic top and metal bottom, the differences is that, ceramic are transparent brackets instead of the conventional stainless steel metal. Ceramic is not obvious from far, but the metal wiring are still visible. Ceramic are more expensive, mine was supposedly $3.8k, i paid the $200 more for the top row of Ceramics.

From what i read online about Damon, they are actually similiar to Ceramic, but smaller and have smoother surface, which means less friction and ulcer. I am not sure about the price of that, but logically, it should be more expensive if it is better.

What determines the colour?

Every month, the dentist would change the rubber on your bracket(whether is it ceramic or metal). The rubber would maneuver your teeth around. There are plenty of colour to chose from, but i decided to stay with transparent after trying pink for the first and last time.

Because it makes my mouth looks like they are bleeding.

But they actually looks alright on my friend's metal bracket. I think ceramic looks best with transparent rubber.

My cousin and brother are doing full metal, they were wearing orange rubber and dark blue rubber.

While mine is full transparent rubber with Ceramic top.

See the differences? I think they still look great with metal, but i never ever regret doing Ceramic top=)

I took pictures of my progress every month. I know the pictures look kind of disgusting here...... haha. But it shows you how much braces have changed my teeth in just 6 months time.

This was the 4th month, and my vampire teeth have clearly moved to the back and i was so happy of the result. My teeth moved too fast and my dentist was kind of worried that it might affect the health of the teeth, so he slowed down a bit and let them settle down first.

Usual Problems when putting braces

1. Braces would cut your mouth or gum, your dental would provide you with wax which would lessen the friction. I only use it during my first week with braces.

2. You would get Ulcer. For me i only had one or two ulcers caused by my bracket or the end of the metal wiring for the past 6 months. It really depends on individual

3. I extracted 4 teeth and 2 more bottom wisdom to go when they have grown out. It wasn't painful at all and i did 4 teeth all together. If you are afraid, you can do 2 at the time.

5. Normal toothbrush will still works, but you can always get a orthodontic toothbrush to brush the space in between the braces.

6. The rubber will get stained, especially the transparent ones, but i still eat everything and anything since you change the rubber every month.

7. Decay may occur if you don't clean your mouth frequently, for me i didn't increase my frequency of brushing. But i rinse it frequently especially after sweet food like chocolates or sweets and after every meals.

8. I can't close my mouth fully for the first month because of the molars inserted to prevent me from biting off the bottom bracket. It is fine now

9. Sadly, i didn't lose any weight due to braces, i still eat as usual. For me, usually it is only painful on the first day of changing the rubbers.

10. My inner bracket drop twice because i ate peanuts, when we are not supposed to eat anything harder than peanuts.

You may be charged to put the bracket back depending on your dental. So don't learn from me!

If you are looking for a dental, you could try the list here, I would advise that you pick somewhere near your place. It would be much more convenient, considering that you need to go back every month., for 1-4 years, depending on conditions. (Mine is 3 years btw).

On Wednesday, we visited Crowne Plaza Hotel as a class outing with our Lodging professor. It was a very different experience for me as i used to work there for close to two months.

The trip was very lovely though and everyone made the effort to dress up formally for the occasion. This is like a third of my class. Some of them does not take this module while the others are still in the hotel

Coincidentally, all of us wore black as a clique!

Hey Earthlings! How is everyone doing on the first day of November?

I hope you like my dark eye circles =)

I woke up at 6.30am to get my first project of the term done.I know you must be thinking, "Woah, yuan xin you are really hardworking". Nah, i wished i am like that too! It is because i had too much fun yesterday night with my girlfriends that i didn't have time to do any work last night.

You know what, this is my 801 posts. I think that explains why i have been out of words to write recently.

My post lack variation! They are all revolving around the same thing, boyfriend, girlfriend, poly friends, now i have one additional category, which is UNI friends! Woah, what an exciting life i have!!!

Anyway, the reason why i have time to be here blogging, is because my boyfriend is doing guard duty. It gives me some additional time. I am thinking of doing some project research, facial, tidy my room a bit, read magazine and blah blah blah. But seems like i don't really have much additional time without him around.

Kind of missy him a little and there is this kind of emptiness which comes with it.

We celebrated Magdalene's 21st birthday at Sakae Sushi Parkmall. I always thought that the youth buffet is until the day before you turned 22, since they stated there as 13-21. So this waitress who seated us wanted us to show her our IC, then she look at it like we are some criminal or something. I asked her if i doesn't look like the person in the IC, then she explained that people who are 21 already are actually not considered as youth and have to pay the adult price, but their damn outlet still consider people who are 21 as youth.

Okay my point is, if they categories it as youth, why look at us that way! Like hello, are there anything wrong with our pretty photos or our pretty faces!

Then, the sweeettttt manager spent like half of our stay there chatting with this customer who is also a fillipino. I don't know if they know each other, but she pays more attention to him than to us.

Finally the food sucks.

I haven been to Sakae buffet for like 2 years and now i feel that the $20 i paid for does not worth the food that they serve. I have limited choices for the red plates as i don't eat Salmon. I tried this dish and seriously the scallops tasted like they are stone and the cheese tasted terrible. Is it always like that or is it just this outlet?

I really like their Kakiage though! Does anyone knows where else serve better Kakiage?

Okay, forget the bad experience at Sakae.

I like how braids keep my hair in place and away from my face. There are so many styles which can easily go well with almost all occasion. I didn't specially take all these pictures, they just happen to be lying around in my phone and i thought it would be a good idea to post it up here. =)

I like dealing with hair and i even considered running my own Salon!!!

My cousin and aunt are hair stylish, their Salon are quite successful and the money they earn aspire me to be one. Lol! And i think it would be really fulfilling if my customer like what i did for them.

I always wanted to learn how to cut hair, and my aunt actually taught me some basic skills. My mum refuses to let me touch her hair though!! She think i will ruin it. LOL! But i used to help my grandpa and my dad cut their hair. When my dad went to a real barber to have his hair cut, the barber ask him what happen to his hair, how come there are holes at some area. HAHAHAHA. He still let me cut his hair whenever it is long, my dad is so kind!

My corridor have been lined up with pots and pots of flowers all planted by dad. He grew the love of gardening earlier this year. Since it was my school holiday, i thought it would be a good idea to bring him to the Botanic Garden. We took the Circle line too.

I went there with boyfriend last year (Click here to view) and i really like the entire environment! It is so photograph friendly! Have been telling him since ages that i want to go there for Picnic one day! But, sadly, we never have the time to do it.

The highlight of the Botanic Garden in my opinion, is the Orchid Garden, they have such a large variety of Orchid which are not commonly seen.

My first college term break

I think i am getting ridiculously lazy! I just spend 5 days of my holiday without working, without blogging and without reading! What have i done the whole week!?! I have already forgotten them, until i flipped through the pictures i took on my phone and on my camera.

On Monday i followed my granduncle to do his routine check around Pulau Ubin on his company's speed boat.

It was really sunny and windy that afternoon. Was kind of scary when he speed, cos i can't swim!!! Lol. But i was safe that day.

We then stopped by an Oyster kalong to look around. We looked like tourist that day!

That was how i spent my first day of school holiday,

Slacked at home the whole day on Tuesday and went Botanic Garden with my family on Wednesday(more pictures up on the next post), then accompanied boyfriend for his medical appointment on Thursday.

I bought him a pair of Havaianas slippers a few months back for our Monthsary, and the skin center's doctor suspected that he is allergic to Havaianas rubber. *Faint* The skin on his foot have been terrible and he haven have a chance to wear my gift. Seems like he can't wear it forever!

We then dined at Raffles City's food court. Boyfriend ordered a super big plate of Cai Fan for me!

And it added up to like $12+ for the two of us! Lol. We sure can eat!

I spent today baking cookies and cakes. My cake was a failure but the cookies turned out quite great =)

Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

I followed this recipe, used 200g of sugar only though, and i still find it too sweet.

The recipe was quite simple for baking noobs like me. But i burnt like two trays because i didn't know how to control the heat of the "top" and "bottom" of my oven.

That was how i spent my relaxing one week holiday =)

It was mynew classmate, Esther’s 21^st birthday celebration yesterday. My uni clique and i attended her birthday together.Sadly, the day of her celebration happens to fall on the same day as our collegewelcome’s bash at butter factory. My classmate chose to attend the bash whilewe went for her birthday.

I havenever been so involved with settling up of party and it was such a enjoyableexperience. We spend all of our energy pumping the balloons but when we saw the final result, all our energy came back like instantly. It was stunning isn’t it?

They saygirls are good at multi-tasking, I think that is definitely a lie! We couldjust pump the balloon away, chat and make eye-contact, and you should know whathappened to the balloon! We over-pumped it and at the same time freaking us out.

The theme of her birthday was Ah-go-go, so there was a lot of polka dots and bright colours.

All of us were really sporty and wore something close to the theme, and the colours of the pictures turned out very nice!

She bought these super pretty cupcakes for all of her guest. But we all think it was overpriced! $50 plus i think? And it was already at a discounted price.

Esther's super heroic boyfriend! He was so busy for the whole day, running here and there, buying this and then, and then preparing the BBQ. They looked so sweet together =)))

Had a really good time at her party yesterday evening! When boyfriend picked me up, he was asking if i was drunk because i was so cheerful that night, haha! he thinks that way cos he find me too emotional most of the time.

It is the beginning of my super long one week holiday!

Weekend is round the corner, i have scheduled myself to stay home to mug for exam and work on assignments.Oh dear, i desperately want to As my first semester but it seems so far from reach now after doing badly for my first quiz. Next Wednesday would be my last paper and final day of the semester before our week break. It feels like it was only yesterday that i started school.

July 24th is our Anniversary, August 24th is my birthday and September 24th is my mum's birthday.

All the 24th are our monthsary!

On the last 24th, boyfriend and i dined at Thai Express, sort of like a mini celebration for our monthsary. We usually won't celebrate them, since it happens every month. Haha.

But once in awhile we would still write letter to each other or send little gifts.

But since this month's 24th falls on the only day we get to meet every week, we had good food! Good because it was my favorite Tom Yum Soup!

We had their promotion set meals instead, because i spotted Tom Yum soup on it. But it kind of taste different from their Signature's one which has transparent soup base and is crazily hot. It still tasted good anyway.

The set meal also comes with Sago in coconut milk. I can't think of anything with coconut milk that doesn't taste good. So this is self-explanatory delicious! Of cos, good food are usually packaged with tonnes of unhealthiness. Coconut milk is high in saturated fats which would lead to high cholesterol, leading to heart diseases. Lol.

Sorry i am just so obsessed with the nutritional facts of food.

Anyway, i don't know why after i put on braces, i dislike smiling with my teeth shown.

Maybe it is a phobia or something, my teeth used to be horribly messed up when i first put on braces. Now that it is straighten, i still haven completely get over it. But i really like how neat it is right now!

And if you did realise, i haven been wearing contact lens lately. I had an eye infection about a month back.Although i changed to a new pair of contact lens, changed the container, soaked in special disinfection solutions, my eyes still turned super red whenever i wore it.

Especially my right eye, it still hurts sometimes and it is always very dry and blur! I have seen a doctor previously and if this continues i would consult another one again.

Eyes are so precious!

And i don't even know how i got that sickening bacteria. I am always very paranoid about dirts and germs and wash my hand with soap like all the time, always carrying a hand sanitiser with me. Always clean my contact lens, soak it and change it and the container regularly.

I think the germs is just like me, they like to live in clean environment.

Makeup-less face! I can't even imagine myself doing this in Poly, but i look like this everyday when i go to school and even out with boyfriend now. I have changed so much!

I guess i have become a little less vain or becoming an extremely lazy old woman.

The second options makes more sense, now that i just celebrated aging like again a month back.

But never mind lah. Got people want already. Image no longer that important. Hehe.

Boyfriend dont run away okay! haha.

One more day to begin my weekend and mid-term is arriving next week!

My bestfriend turned 21st two weeks ago! Attended her party with boyfriend.

Yesterday evening, we celebrated Adrienne's belated birthday. Had dinner together at Lenas Bugis. I had black pepper Ham and Mushroom. I guess i was too hungry! The food tasted extremely delicious that day.

The lady at the cashier called Moon needs some service training. She forgot her manner that day.

My friend paid by debit, Moon just passed her the recipt and say, "nah, sign". Okay, wasn't that bad right, but we didn't have good experience with them previously too, they actually forgotten our order and we waited for almost 45 minutes. So erhem, maybe it isn't the best place to dine at if you hate poor customer service just like me.

Then we da bao-ed Koi, we waited for 5 minutes only i think, there wasn't any long queue that evening. The lady who took our order was extremely service orientated, totally sweet and patience with me. Looks like a Taiwanese. =)

Slacked outside national library. Chatted a bit, gossiped about our friend who wasn't here that day, and then camwhored a little. Heeee.

Wore the dress Rui Yi got me for my 21st. Yup, the colour is so loud and isn't what i usually would wear. But i still love it though. =)

Rebel 17 Potluck

Had our first class outing last Friday, i didnt stay throughout the whole thing as i needed to rush to work after that. But it was really fun!

Everyone was very cooperative and brought something!

I bought the red checked picnic mat! Lol. Cos i had dental earlier on that day and didn't had time to prepare anything. But it is useful okay! Although a bit too small to fit in the 26 of us who were there.

The 26 of us were like only half of my class as there are 49 of us in total. Such a big big class. And! There are only 4 guys? Like totally opposite of my poly class where only a small proportion is girls. But i like it this way better! =)

Throughout the whole picnic session when i was still there, we spent our time camwhoring!

This is my new good friend Candy! She is from TP too and we share so many things in common. We use the same pencil case, and same pink water bottle, like the same pen and both of us wears black baby G! We have so much things to talk about, like how our sch lift used to make us late, how we were always late of sch. Haha. Totally amazing to find someone who share so many common thing as me.

And forget to mention! She likes to camwhore too! haha!

Another week gone

Boyfriend and i checked out H&M Singapore last week, four days after their opening. Although we no longer have to queue to get in, the queue at the counters and fitting room were crazy!!! The clothes are okay, but there are so much variety there,that there would definitely be something which would catches your eyes.

It has been two weeks since i start school, my first two weeks of school were really awesome! Maybe because all of us were from Poly, that why the whole part of getting along wasn't that difficult and we just had out first outing yesterday! A picnic at Marina Barrage. Can't wait to blog about it, but i would be heading off to my best friend 21st chalet in a moment. Might have to blog about it another time.

Was shopping at the perfume and cosmetic shop at Changi Airport Terminal 3 before work and i fall in love with the fragrance of the Marc Jacobs Daisy Spring edition. It truly matches spring and summer and i thought it would be a good choice since it is always Summer here. What's more, as staff we get staff discount. I love the floral cap and the baby pink colour. But something about the fragrance is, it fade off quicky and won't last you through the day. Nevertheless, i still love it, especially the bottle which now act like a pretty decoration on my makeup table.

I haven been blogging diligently since the beginning of 2011.... as compared to two years back. Not that i became lazy or lost interest in blogging. To be honest i love blogging, it has become part of my life to share bits and pieces up here. To earn some extra pocket money through advertisement posted here by Nuffnang. And to share the hundred of pictures i take every month, instead of collecting dust in my folders. Most importantly to show off anything that i could. lol. ( I am sure you and the rest of the blogger on earth, keeps a blog for that purpose!) Although i try to be humble sometimes and also i don't have as much things to boast about.

At times i still flip though my older post, remembering how my life used to be. Blogging is like a documentary of me- which is the favorite part of blogging to me. Remembering things which have been forgotten.

And how much camwhore photo i used to have..... Emo-ing.....

And how much i love to act cute...... This is taken 2 or 3 years ago i think.

I used to blog mostly everyday, ranting about anything and everything. But as i grew more matured(i believe), i realise people are not interested in what you do everyday, especially unnecessary rantings. So my blog post got lesser and lesser and even lesser.

Anyway, I am trying to blog more frequently now! =) Maybe i should bring my camera to school on my next lesson. I can't wait to share with all of you my new classmates and my new school.

Look what i have got! My round heart watch.

I like how the pink stands out of the boring black and love the heart and round shapes on the pointer. It is just like the watch is specially tailored for me. Round heart.

I insisted that i didn't want anything from my mum for my 21st. But she surprised me by giving me one container of cash. Decided to use a small part of it to buy something so that if one day i happen to finish all of the cash she gave me on my 21st, there is still something for me to remember. Boyfriend chipped in a small part for the watch too! ( And I guilty spent $300+ over the past 3 days. :x)

And guess what i did!

I made my nails exactly like my watch's colour. Only if i have the skills to do heart shape on it too.

Anw, i think blogger finally heard my rantings on how much i hate their posting layout and they have changed it! After like so many years. I love how spacious it is right now, just like Microsoft word Instead of the tiny little corner that we could type in previously, while the rest of the space EMPTY and useless. They have learnt how to maximize their space!

No school for me on all Fridays and no work this week too.

Next week would be a really tedious week for me! Having to work four days that week.

Gonna make full use of this weekend. =)

Lomography

I always fascinate the effect of pictures generated from a Lomo camera. But did not get one of them because they are quite pricey and i love my G11.

On my 21st, Xin Rui, Adrienne and Zhi Hua got me one of those tiny thing and what's more, it is in my favorite pink.

I totally can't wait to test it out, and dalah! Here are what we got!

We took millions of years to figure out how to fix the film into the camera. The first few films were overexposed, and the last few too as we simply just open up the cover without manually turning the film back.

We then challenged each other to take the most artistic picture with the Esplanade.

Those lighter lines in the middle of the pictures are actually *effects* from my scanner, i wonder what wrong with it!

We then took a long walk from City Hall to Clarke Quay and then all the way to Somerset. Love the walk at Tourist attraction, feels like i am in another country. We are two direction nerd, and i guess we wouldn't make it there without the technology- our GPS on our phone.

It was drizzling the whole day yet the sun was burning, such a irritating weather.

Headed to develop the film immediately after that, it only took 1 working day. Super fast. It costed me $12 to print out 24 4R pictures, kind of pricey, but developing film excites me! I can't wait for it to be ready and can't wait to see them once it is done.

My poly friends rock!

Two days ago, boyfriend and i headed to Orchard. Randomly, he wanted to get a shirt he saw from Bugis. When we headed there, he told me the shirt doesn't look as nice actually and didn't purchase it. So we strolled around and he suggested that we could head to Pasta De Waraku to eat, which he claimed that his sister says it's nice.

While waiting for the seats, he approached the waiter and whispered something to him, and the waiter replied very loudly, "Oh five of you??". HAHA. Totally ruined the girl's surprise for me!

And i was right about my boyfriend being up to something with my girls. Pasta De Waraku is Rui Yi's favorite and Kian Yong NEVER ever suggest on places to dine at.

I am the 'boyfriend' in our relationship. Opps, if this was supposed to be a secret. haha.

While i was still questioning my boyfriend, four of them came in with a cake lighted with twenty one candles, singing birthday song to me. I was ultra touched!!! I swear!

I can't express how appreciative i am to have them with me on Thursday. Although it was just a simple dinner together, we chatted a lot, laughed so much and have so much fun! I can't remember when was the last time i really let go of all my troubles and laugh. There was so much happenings at home on the last few days before my birthday. I was so tied down to all the troubles that i didn't know how to enjoy myself even on my birthday. I cried a lot the last few days and i got so wear out from all the crying that i look really horrible. Especially my eyes.

But everything is fine already! My birthday wish came true=)and i would also appreciate if you don't ask. TY!

Let the Ramen eating competition begins!
Yesterday was my 21st birthday, we picked Ramen Champion to dine at, as i have heard pretty good review about it. Coincidentally all of us ordered the same thing! We followed the crowd, but it didn't turn out that awesome.

The most popular one in the Tokyo booth. Look at the serving!! It's crazy! Super gigantic with plenty of bean sprout and noodles. We ended up trying to swallow down the whole bowl and it didn't taste that good actually. Every mouth was filled with bean sprout, so you would be crunching nosily all the way and also the soup base is made of pork fats! OMG! When the left-over noodle cooled down in the bowl, we could see a thick layer of oil right on top. It was eeekk-ness.

Eventually Siew Ling boyfriend was the champion! He finished his and ate half of Siew Ling's share.

And my boyfriend swallow down all of the soup too!

Then claiming that the words at the bottom of the bowl states " you are the champion ". =.=

After that, throughout our whole trip home he can't stop complaining how full and how thirsty he was!! The soup must have been filled with tonnes of MSG.

Now i don't have to take out my hello kitty schedule book which i keep my cash, then my hello kitty cardholder which holds my Atm card and also memebership card then lastly.. my hello kitty container which holds my coins. Sounds like a lot of hello kitty, no wonder he will think that way. Haha.

Earlier on that day, i met my aunt, cousins and parents for lunch after my orientation, to dine at Dine Tai Fung. The Yam Xiao Long Bao is really nice! Siew Ling was right. =)

My aunt insisted that she want to get me something for my birthday. She picked a heart shape diamond ring for me.

Eventually my mum decided to get one for my cousin too, who would be turning 21 very soon.

And lucky that there was another piece left! Both of the sizes fit us perfectly, with some room to grow fat.

And we ended up having the same ring for our 21st! =)

Had a date at Fort Canning park today. We explored the area a little, snapped pictures and blow bubbles.

Boyfriend didn't bring his camera today, my camera doesn't work as well for certain shots. But many still turned out great =)

I am suddenly addicted to the yellowish effects on the photographs. Hope you guys like it too!

Turning 21 in 30 minutes and college orientation tomorrow. Hope i meet great people there!

I haven touch any DIY for nearly half a year. I guess i have grown too old and lazy for that or maybe i was far too busy? I don't know. There isn't any muse coming, neither is there any sudden urge to jump out of the house, head to Spotlight or sitting infront of my sewing machine all day long trying to fix something out of nothing. Have i lost my passion? Or maybe i have been too focused on work that i become too lazy to move when i finally have time to catch some rest.

Anyway, i did a set of DIY polka dot nail for myself a few days back. I always wanted to try one of these polka dot design which was quite popular, but i hate to fork out money to do those pretty manicure that doesn't last, especially since i work in environment that will make it a even bigger disaster.

Love how cute it turned out to be.

One more day to my birthday.

I don't feel any excitement like how i used to, i don't feel the need to make 21st extraordinary.

Birthday becomes events which mark that you have AGED. How sad.

But i still look forward to meeting my friends after such a long time! That is the best thing about aging i guess!

And i look forward to spending my last week of holiday, five days of leave from work, before my school starts. =)

Last Saturday Siew Ling and i attended Yvonne's 21st Birthday at Downtown East Aranda.

She made personalized cupcake as door gift for everyone. She is so talented! All the cupcake looks brilliant.

And her friend made her a Scapebook for her guest to write down notes for her. Such a nice idea but definitely required plenty of time!

Yesterday Boyfriend took a day off from work, and we wanted to head to Fort canning park to take pictures. But the sky wasn't on our side, it poured for the whole day =(

We ended up walking around and slacking at Plaza Sin since there wasn't any nice movie showing too.

And we ended up sitting outside Plaza Sin to have his favorite Gong Cha's Taro milk tea instead.

And also eating the cupcake from Yvonne. Super unwilling to eat it!

Okay, it isn't Christmas just yet.

Yesterday Jasmine and i met up for a pre-university meet up to clear off our desire to see each other and also for a belated birthday celebration(for her) and advance birthday celebration(for me).

She is older than me by 30 days!

Coincidentally, both of us bought gifts for each other. So the meetup ended up like a gift exchange session. These are what she got me! A perfume, a hairband, whitening cream and also a note book. Nicely packed in a box. And i got her a cup which i know she would definitely need, and a small cupboard for her to keep all her things organised.

We had Toast Box for our breakfast(my favorite =)))), Mac for lunch and then did a sinful shopping at Bugis Junction followed by Bugis street. And i finally got my Fred Perry tote bag which i have been looking for, for quite awhile. I like the simplicity of it and the perfect size.

Carried my new bag from LoveBontio out too. It is a multi-way bag which could be converted into bagpack and also handbag.

I always thought i love the out of place tooth i have at the corner on top and the reason why i did braces is to correct the bottom of my teeth because it is extending out too much and visible when i spoke. I wasn't sure if i want the top row of my teeth to be neat since i like it, and people are telling me they find it really cute too..

UNTIL...........

I realise how much my teeth have improved from the four months of braces. I actually prefer it now!! Sacrificing four teeth to make space for a neater set of teeth is totally worth it!

Now i can't wait to get those metal wires off!

Work

It have been almost two months since i started my new job, and sadly Jie Yan would be leaving in another 15 days for her training as a air traffic controller. I am gonna miss working with her! Enjoyed my time working in the hotel industry, it is new yet not too different from what i have been doing for years- customer service.

Took some photos in the changing room before we start work. It would be a nice piece of memory for us.

Jie Yan, my poly classmate and my colleague, would be changed to ex-classmate and ex-colleague very soon!!

Happy Lunar Birthday

Yesterday i was so surprised to see boyfriend outside my workplace!

It was actually my lunar birthday and he made me vermicelli with egg for me. It is a traditional to eat that on Lunar birthday for the chinese( i think, my mum told me that. haha) He NEVER cook anything else other than egg and Maggie at home and i must say, his delivery this time was pretty amazing. haha.

It is in my favorite Tom Yam soup base, with my favorite vegetable, toufu, mushroom and healthy tomato plus meat which he always insist that my body needs!

The most memorable day of my life

Last Sunday, boyfriend and i celebrated our first anniversary. Time passed by so quickly isn't it? Feels like yesterday when i just know him.

After much consideration on all the places we could go, we decided on Jurong Bird Park, he knows i love to take pictures and it is a nice place to do so. Although it isn't any romantic places for the anniversary date, i really had a good time there, especially the part where we get to feed the parrot(more photos at the bottom).

I can't remember the last time i went to bird park. Perhaps during primary school?

The entrance was decorated with plenty of flowers. The orchid resembles the ones at Botanic Garden.

Boyfriend is always the one doing the navigating. Although most of the time we ended up getting lost(haha! he has as bad sense of direction as me =P ), i still appreciate it a lot. See how focused he was trying to explain to me on where to go, while i am busy snapping pictures of him.

I was watching in amusement how cool it is to feed the Lory, their colours are so vivid and colourful. And boyfriend got me the food to feed them. Once i hold on to the container, a few parrots flew over, one standing on my shoulder and a few others on the container. I didn't dare to move initially, but after awhile i realise they wouldn't hurt me. Still kind of scary though with four parrots on my hand.

Love the red one! They are so beautiful, but they are not as gentle as the green ones and i realise they only clique with the same types, red and red, green with green only.

Look at how much my hair has grown over the past one year. Still remember how i mustered all my courage to cut it short almost a year ago. So much have changed with time.

Fourth months with braces, my vampire teeth is almost gone already.

I learnt something new from my colleague today.

" The only thing in this world which is permanent is changes. "

He is so right. As time passes, people changes too. I've changed a lot too and grew a lot as a person through this one year with KY, for the better i think, =)

If you are wondering what ky got for me, it is right on top(a picture of one of the pages). It is a photo diary of his journey from the first time he sees me in the lift, till trying to hunt me down from the thousands of people in school and trying to know me in person. Moving on to wooing me, falling in love with him and the whole journey of the one year we spent together, month by month with photos and descriptions.
Nothing which could be bought with money could ever be compared to such a gift. He spent so much time and so many sleepless night to complete the gifts. I can't explain how much i love the gift.
I am ultra thankful to have such a thoughtful, sweet and selfless boyfriend whom i spent with for the past one year. Recalling our first year spend together made me cry really badly. I have never ever felt so protected, so well taken care of and most importantly so happy before. It was tears of mixed feeling, mostly touched. It was so unfamiliar because i have never ever felt like that before.

When i headed home, i found a weird CD. I played it out of curiousness, then i realise it is actually a video filmed by boyfriend, with a short speech and him singing me my favorite song. I was ultra touched, that i can't help and cried again. You must be thinking that i am such a cry baby.
But seriously, i have never felt so loved and pampered in my life before.
That is the best gift i ever received!!!!!!!

Sunday sunrise

Heading off to work later on the day. Decided to stop by blogger to share some pictures of the beautiful sunrise i caught last Sunday. Yes is a sunrise, the sky was partially covered by dark clouds, creating the awesome deep orange and the heavenly effect .

I still remember complaining about how quickly we were bidding goodbye to June already and now we are saying goodbye to July again. Four more days to our anniversary and eleven more days to my favorite August. It is my birthday month! Means additional discount in various retail and also, finally turning legal. I am turning 21st! Can't believe i am aging so quickly.

Enjoy your life right now while you could before you turn into a granny or grandpa and could hardly walk!

Food food food.

Do you live to eat or eat to live?

Met up with my tuition friends yesterday, we hang out at downtown east, walked around and settled at Just Acia, they have the most value for money set meals which comes with free-flow drinks and icecream.

This is the Spicy chicken set i had, the serving are quite generous. But in terms of taste, i find it just average. The spicy chicken wasn't spicy enough for me.

And we ordered their fried toufu too.

Plus with just another dollar, u get a Chawanmushi. We paid a total of about $9.80 each, quite affordable huh. You would definitely leave the restaurant with a full tummy, unless you have a gigantic appetite.

At this point of life, all of us are at the cross road of our life, going complete different route as one another. I am glad we could still meet up like that for awhile and chit chat like we haven been apart. Do you feel the same too?

Sometimes we are just too caught up by life that we have forgotten people who were once very dearly and close to us. The ones who once share part of your memory. But it is never too late, just don't make that your regret on your death bed.

I like to nag like a old grandmother huh. =P

Above the trees.

Countless of dates have been spent in the boring shopping center greeted by the seducing window display mannequins waving to you to come in, just like the scene in the movie, confession of a shopaholic. This weekend, boyfriend and i decided to go hiking instead. Both of us have never been to the treetop walk, so we decided to give it a try.

We started off the trail from Thomson road and it says it is a 5km walk there. The road were quite rocky and hilly in some areas.

Although it was a hot day, the afternoon sun didn't warm up the path we took. It was relatively cooling through the walk to the treetop. Maybe even cooler than night time in our urban area.

If we grow more tree at a larger scale than now, we would probably slow down the effects of global warming on us.

“A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” –Greek proverb

Saw this quote on the pathway back, something which us human have been too selfish to put it into practice. Nevertheless, it is never too late to start planting tree! Even if it isn't literally planting them, a small habit like switching off the lights when not in use might do something to our future earth.

Undisturbed habitats are the most beautiful thing in existence now.

Finally after almost one and a half hours of crazy walking, we arrived at the tree top walk.

The bridge is 250m long and 25m in high. It is a pretty short suspending bridge, took us like 5-10 minutes to walk pass it, even when we stopped by to take picture. The view wasn't that great actually, and you are not exactly above the trees, there are a few of them who still stood higher than the bridge.

The bridge is not stationary, so it kind of shake a little sometimes. From the height where you would probably die if you fall off, it is kind of scary to look straight down.

We took a break at the exit of the tree top walk before continuing our journey back. It is easily another 5km back. But we are heading back to where we came from, it took us almost 3 hours to walk back.

We walked through somewhere, then all around MacRitchie Reservoir before getting home.

Both of us were wearing improper footwear (slippers!) and we walked almost 14 km!! Took us 5 hours to complete the whole trail, plus we happen to take the most challenging trail.

Crazy as it seems but was a great workout. Have to be honest that i haven exercise for a long long time already!

Anyway, i saw this speech written for the graduating class of 2008, by Adrian Tan, guest-of-honour at NTU Convocation Ceremony, author of The Teenage Textbook (1988) on Audrey Lim blog. I like this part where he talked about love, i could easily relate it. Though i could share it here with all of you.

Reminiscing childhood

The moment we saw the two empty swing, we ran over(okay, maybe only me =P) in excitement. Swings are the best thing in playground.

They lift you high up above the ground, swing you forward and backwards giving you freedom and speed.

Last Friday, Jie Yan and i attended our colleague's birthday celebration at Pasir Ris park. It have been awhile since i went to the far end of the beach where all the playgrounds are location. We had lots of fun before heading over to the BBQ.

I like the combination of the colours of these pictures we took together, the greenery behind with the brown from the exposing roots of the Rain tree and also the tiny orange sun at the corner.

Been doing crazy spilt shift everyday, waking up as early as 4am and reaching home at 9plus in the evening. I have been spending a lot of time sleeping. That is what all my life is about recently. School is starting in less than two months time, thinking about it, my almost 4 months break haven been fruitful.

I wonder how do people juggle between leisure and work, i always have no life when i am employed. I haven met my best friends for weeks, i haven spoke to any of my friends ever since i started work last weeks. I am such a horrible friend. But i have one very good excuse! I only have one off day per week.

Met boyfriend on Sunday for a short walk at Vivo city. Shopping is getting so super boring. We usually find a nice spot and just sit down to have a chat.

Captured a picture of boyfriend's brown eyes using my camera's basic macro mode. I have never taken such a close look at the contour in our eyes, and also mine is too black to see anything else. Human eyes are so beautiful.

I have so much things to update on this blog! So much to share with all of you on the things i have learnt recently in my new job, from my new colleague and new friends, and also a few birthdays which i attended. Will do so once i have more time. Boyfriend went Korea for holiday, its gonna be a long 7 days, i should have more time supposedly. =)

Met Siew Ling today to do some shopping, and most importantly, to get my friend's 21st birthday pressie. Everyone's turning 21, when i am already so so broke! But i am excited, mostly about catching up with people i haven met since i graduated from secondary school, and even primary school. Now i am looking forward to Siew Ling's 21st, hearing those people who she is gonna invite. Awesomeness =)

We coincidentally wore pink together! Although obviously in very very different shade, the colour makes the picture matchy matchy. And also, matching my hideous pink braces.

At 3 O' Clock, waiting patiently for her lunch, and for me, my second lunch.

Manhattan Fish Market's student meal is definitely addictive! It is only $6.90 per meal!

I feel like eating another 10 plates of them like now! It is so so delicious! And did i mention they comes with free flow drinks??

Oh shit, they are making me so damn fat. But i still love this promotion to the max! =)

Having our lunch under a tree, chit chatting a little, with tree leaves dancing with the wind and taking it's flight down onto the ground. That is definitely the best spot to have some catch up session with my old friend.

This is actually the spot outside Cineleisure, where the MacDonald is located. We had Long John Silvers on the go, and the food there seriously sucks. They were left too long that the fries were harden and the fish were too hard to chew. The bad thing about sitting under the tree is, you get additional vegetable in your food, from right above.

Girl's chat is always the most aweseome ones! It could just go endlessly for hours, i wonder why do i always have so much thing to tell Jasmine. Usually when both of us were very busy with school, we only get to meet like once a year. But this year, this is the second time we meet up(yet we still chatted like it have been years since we met), that is what they call best friend isn't it? =) Hope there are more chances to meet up with her! Although it is kind of impossible, now that both of us would be even busier with our university studies.

We caught Something Borrowed, a romance and comedy. Other than aching my back after sitting two hours straight in the theater, the movie is not that bad. Then we shopped a little, spent a little too much(for me only) and sat down to have tea break at Fruit Paradise at The Central. The new Editor's market is kind of disappointing, none of their clothes there caught my eye. But they have guys clothing now, not that it concern me. haha.

They are so beautifulllllll that i don't bear to eat them. Their tarts prices varies from $5.80 to $7.80. You pay $9.80 and you get to complete it with a tea of a coffee.

Seriously , they worth the price! It is still so salivating by just looking at the picture now and remembering how great it tasted like.

Weekend is round the corner. Another one and a half more days to go for all the five days week workers!! Let me HOORAY for all of you! =)

I have been jobless for two weeks, hanging around doing nothing is pretty boring at times. Spent my Sunday with boyfriend, Monday as a housemaker, Met up with Adrienne and her boyfriend on Tuesday. Wednesday with my parents and rotting at home today.

I haven got reply from the job which i went for interview previously. It means that i can continue living such lifestyle for the next three months! I have no intention to look for other job if i were rejected by this position.

Temporary job hunting is sickening. Wish i could just grow a money tree outside my corridor.

Then i could do, Shopping. Dating. Dancing. Sleeping. Eating. Slacking. everyday.

Spotted that my wanton noodles were cut into small pieces. I didn't have trouble eating them anymore.

Keeping your room freaking neat

I guess only a neat freak could maintain their room 24/7, 365 days sparkling tidy. I can't, no matter how hard i try to tidy up my room, i still find it very untidy or very dirty.

Anyway, Jasmine requested me to blog about "how to come about keeping my room neat" and that is how this blog post came about.

You would have to follow closely to the seven rules i came out with to make it work, i can't promise it would stay neat forever but probably for at least a week. haha.

Rule number #1. Be a crazy neat freak like me!

I told my boyfriend, i find myself very miserable as i spend half of my life thinking how messy my room is and the other half tidying it up. Maybe that is why i never have any spare time.

Rule number #2. Make sure you put your daily junkies away before you head to bed.

Remember, tomorrow never comes.

I am sure most of you are like me, you would immediately throw your bag, your key and those treasures hunted from the shopping trip somewhere when you get home. For me, i always throw them on my bed. It is never done deliberately, but after all, it is a good thing to have this habit. As you definitely have to keep these junkie away if you would like to have sufficient space to sleep at night.

Rule number #3. Always put your thing back to where you took them from immediately after use.

I always make a big mess on my makeup area whenever i am heading out. Always make it a habit to wake up a few minutes earlier to make sure you have time to put your makeup/comb/accessories that you decided not to wear etc, in place before you head out. So it would never be in a mess when you are home.

Rule number #4. Keep things in order, so they would easily remain in order.
When you are in a hurry, it always suck to spend a few minutes digging through your wardrobe, looking for the clothes you have in mind for the day. So my wardrobe is always according to colours, making the search much easier and the drawer which my bottoms are kept, according to my favorites' at the moment, categorized properly. This way it saves you a lot of time and also prevent a wreckage in your wardrobe after every morning's fitting.

Also, THROW AWAY clothes you no longer wears. NEVER keep them, they take up space and make searching a chore. Recycle them, so it won't do so much harm to the environment.

Rule number #5. Label whatever you don't use frequently.
I keep all my books here. Please give away your primary school books, i see no reason why people are STILL keeping them.
Get a proper shelf, they keep things in place. I need a proper book shelf too, but my mum always put it in a way that all furnitures have feeling, and throwing them away will make them sad and its a sin. So i am rethinking about getting one now. I keep them organised with these Ikea book holder now.

Rule number #6. Be organised! Group similar thing together.
And, stop buying. That is my biggest problem, i always buy more than i need. So, buy only what you need and not what you want, if not you would end up in a terrible state like me now.

Spend an hour or two each week making sure everywhere is neat and tidy. It gives you a more conducive place to live in, study in and sleep in.

Rule number #7. Sit back and admire the result of each tiding or cleaning session.
You will learn to love it eventually, and hopefully.

I have watched my grandparents making dumpling since a kid. But i have never taken it seriously before.

My grandma used to chase me away by giving me some of the dumpling leave to go make dumpling with the soil in the garden. She didn't want me to make a mess in the kitchen.

The leaves are actually similiar to the Pandan leaves we see in the market, these are the bigger version of them.

This year i told my grandma that i would like to help her up with the making.

My aunt, mum and cousin came along too and it made life so much easier for me. That is my aunt cooking the glutinous rice and my grandma talking to my mum.

While i went to pluck some Mulberry from the tree right outside my grandma place.

And snapped some pictures of my grandma's pet.

And pest.

My cousin very focused in making her dumpling! She is amazingly good at it although it is her first time making them. While i have years of unfocused practice.

I made 14 of them only. The whole process of boiling the dumpling takes about 2 hours. I didn't know it take so long to be cooked! And sadly, one of mine fell of while its being cooked. But the rest of them looks quite great though =)

Had a fun day at Ubin on Friday, headed to an interview after that.

Quite like what is being offered, hope it would be a successful one to earn some additional cash before school start =)

Moving on

I am officially unemployed for the whole of a week. Last Wednesday was the last day of work for me at SGS, i spent a month there assisting with administrative work.

Although i am only there for a month, my colleague treated me for lunch and also got me chocolates and cakes on my last day.

The girls who gotten me these delicious cakes.

The people are always the one who determine whether you have a good time there or a sucky time.

June and Yasmine, the two colleague which i worked directly under. They were always kind to me and give me a lot of resting time here and there.

And Bao Yun the really helpful and cheerful lady of my department.

They were the ones who makes my one month a really awesome one. =)

At the moment i am still hunting for other jobs to earn some additional cash before my uni starts in very late August. The month of June is here far too soon, almost half of the year have passed. The second half of the year is always more exciting for me. Four of my girls turning 20, my sister turning 21 together with me and also, our anniversary is coming soon. Most importantly CHRISTMAS is coming! haha. Lastly, something additional to what happens every year, a new school, new environment and new challenges awaits right ahead for me in another three month times.

Whats more, we are having the GREAT SINGAPORE SALES this month! =)

But.. I promise i would shop like a unemployed. =X

The white clouds

Weekend are so precious for the 9-5. They are the only time where you get to spend with your love ones and the only time to get catch some additional rest and some heat from the sun.

Headed to East Coast Park with boyfriend last weekend after catching Pirates of the Caribbean at Marina Square. I find the movie average only, kind of disappointed when i saw the Mermaids. Everyone were ranting about how pretty they are, but they turned out to be okay only. Maybe my expectation were set too high from all the comments people made.

On the way there, we almost met an accident,we were just inches to banging onto another car right ahead of us when the driver stop all of the sudden on an expressway. That was the first time i realise taking public transport could be a safer idea during super peak hour. Talk about all the measures govt have put in place to reduce the traffic on the road- ERP, COE, and it is still so busy everywhere.

The weekend at East Coast Park is crazy. There are people everywhere and bicycles, bicycles and more bicycles. We should run a bicycle rental at East Coast too! The terrain there are more bicycle friendly and the market rate seems to be higher compared to what we have in Ubin.

The wind was strong that day and many people were out in the sea doing Yachting. Seems like an interesting sports! But i doubt i would ever do it. Not a fan of the sun, neither can i swim.

Feels so awesome to be sitting by the seaside, looking at the kids play, the tree dancing with the wind and everything around you seems to slow down. No chaotic lifestyle, no rushing to beat traffic lights, no rude passengers, no endless noise from the office phone and also no one screaming at each other to get their work done.

We sat there for awhile, talk about nonsense and then drag our feet back. Good time always pass by quickly. The next thing you know, it is Monday all over again. Then it would be the Monday blue which everyone hates.
